Be-U-tiful

I've been a bit obsessed lately with the idea of growing up, maybe because I'm about to become an "other mommy" to two amazing 5 years olds and their development fascinates me, as does my own - even at 38 years of age.  I'm especially intrigued by the complexity of girls and the range of emotions, intellect and maturity that they seem to cram into tiny packages.  I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph this little one for exactly that reason.  At 8 years old she she is all sweetness and fun, silly and kind.  However, there is also quiet maturity that you might not expect at this age.  A sensitivity to people's feelings and an understanding of subtle undercurrents in her environment.

I feel blessed to have the chance to capture a small snapshot of her life at this moment.  She is an extraordinary young lady and as she grows I have no doubt that she will move mountains.

I think you captured her true spirit! These photos are amazing examples of an 8 year old girl being herself.
