What is Branding Photography?

I get asked this a lot, specifically by my mother who still doesn't think I have a "real job".

A brand is so much more than your logo and your headshot.  A brand is the perception that you want customers to identify with your business. Your brand should tell a story, it should tell YOUR story in a way.  It should give your customer something to connect with, to seek engagement with, and it should encourage loyalty.

As a brand photographer it is my job to capture imagery that creates that connection point between your business and your audience. Branding sessions include photos of you, your team, your products, your process, your space and other things that make your business unique.

So you might ask "I have a headshot.  That's enough right?"  There was a time that a headshot was all you needed, but now it is just a piece of a much larger branding strategy.  A headshot is static, one dimensional.  It's like wearing the same shirt at every business meeting you ever attend.  People start to think "do they think we don't know that they only have shirt?"  "Yawn, I'm bored of that shirt, I want something else to look at."

It is so important for you as a business owner to make sure your brand is represented well on social media.  Consumers trust businesses far more if they are active and engaged on-line.  Think about the last service or product you bought - I'm guessing you did your research on-line, read their reviews and stalked them heavy on Facebook before you bought.  On the flipside, a few months back I was looking to get my cabinets refinished and got a quote from a company that had ZERO on-line presence.  Even though their email communication was impeccable and their pricing competitive, I was highly suspicious by the lack of information available; more specifically, the lack of consumer reviews (we are all in this together right?).

Branding Photography makes your business more relatable, it creates consistency and it increases brand recognition.  If you are thinking "I wouldn't know where to begin" let me reassure you that I do.  I will work with you to find the voice of your brand and create the images that best reflects that voice.  You will never again be stumped about what images to post on-line or what to say.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in please drop me an email or give me a call. I'd love to help.
